HARTLEPOOL, UK – Subsea7 has subcontracted Liberty Pipes Hartlepool to provide 16.6 km of longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipe for two Aker BP projects in the Norwegian North Sea: Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP-Fenris.
Liberty will deliver the pipes to Subsea7’s bundle fabrication site at Wester, northern Scotland, with manufacture due to start shortly and then continue throughout 2023. Steel Pipe Gas Line
The LSAW pipes will be manufactured to API 5L specifications and also coated. They will form the outer carrier pipe for the overall pipeline bundles incorporating all structures, valves, pipelines and control systems within the prefabricated system.
Fabrication of the complete assembly will take place onshore in Wester, before being towed offshore for installation.
Yggdrasil comprises various fields in the Hugin, Fulla and Munin licenses between the Alvheim and Oseberg areas. The project calls for multiple subsea tiebacks to newbuild fixed platforms.
North China Petroleum Steel Pipe Valhall PWP-Fenris involves a tieback from the Fenris unmanned installation to the new Valhall production wellhead platform and re-routing of existing gas export and gas lift pipelines to that facility.
